We’ve answered a couple more of them for you here
PayMaya QR is a technology that enables you to purchase goods and/or services just by scanning the merchant’s QR code using the PayMaya app. A QR code is a two-dimensional barcode readable by smartphones. It’s a simpler and safer way to pay instead of manually entering the merchant’s data into your mobile phones.
Upon scanning, you will have the account details of the merchant and can complete the purchase by sending your payment to the PayMaya merchant from your PayMaya wallet.
Payment via QR code eliminates the need to dig through your wallet for bills and change. There’s no risk of money falling out plus, it’s completely snatcher-safe because your money is secured in an electronic wallet.
Using PayMaya QR will also give you instant rewards and you can earn loyalty points* for every use.
Easy! Just create a PayMaya Account!
Once you’ve loaded funds into your account, you’re all set to make a purchase via QR code:
Yes, you can! Just make sure that your PayMaya app version is up to date and that you have funds in your account. All you have to do is:
Yes, you have to be close enough for the PayMaya app to clearly scan the merchant’s QR code. It’s best you stay close to the merchant till the payment is confirmed so you can show the transaction details on the spot.
A pop up screen should appear in the app right after the transaction and you’ll also receive a transaction confirmation via SMS once it’s been processed. You can also check your transaction history and account balance in the app’s home screen.
Nope, paying merchants via PayMaya QR is totally free! No convenience charges or service fees involved.
There is no minimum transaction amount for you to make a PayMaya QR payment.
On the other hand, since PayMaya QR payments are treated as purchases*, there are maximum transaction limits based on your money-in limit for the month. This limit will depend on the status of your PayMaya Account (Starter or Upgraded). This means that a starter account can purchase up to Php 50,000.00 per month and an upgraded account can purchase up to Php 100,000.00 per month.
*Treated as purchase November 17, 2017 onwards. Transactions are treated as send money before November 17, 2017
Each QR code is unique per merchant so when you scan with PayMaya QR, you’re guaranteed that the information you’ll receive is accurate without any risk of any manual input errors. Access to your account is also secured by a password log-in before you can transact. PayMaya also has the BSP on its side and is a BSP regulated product, so you can put your worries at bay.
Just look for the “PayMaya QR accepted here” sign in stores. You can also check our official website www.PayMaya.com or our official Facebook page @PayMayaOfficial for the list of merchants accepting PayMaya QR payments.
At the moment, you can only use your PayMaya app to scan and purchase from PayMaya QR Merchants. We are working closely with other providers to widen acceptance points. Stay tuned!
