How to Integrate

There are 3 easy steps to integrate PayMaya Checkout to your web or mobile application: integration to sandbox environment, testing, and production.

Integration to the Checkout API sandbox environment

Integration involves programming your application to communicate with the Checkout API, displaying the checkout URL (if not PCI-DSS compliant), and handling payment results. The Checkout API specifications are available here.

Test your integration by creating transactions using test credit card numbers. MasterCard and VISA test credit card numbers are available in this document.

Promotion to Production

Once you have fully integrated and verified your integration, contact us to request access to the Checkout API production environment. Upon verification, you will be given your production API keys. Change your application's PayMaya Checkout API key configuration from sandbox to production to start accepting live payments.

Do I have worry about PCI-DSS compliance?

The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS) applies to any business that stores, processes, or transmits payment cardholder data (credit card number, expiry date, and security code). Since PayMaya Business manages and secures your customer's payment cardholder data, your PCI-DSS scope has been drastically reduced. It does not, however, exempt you from complying to the PCI-DSS Self-Assessment Questionnaires (SAQs) requirements. These SAQs are validation tools that will assist in self-evaluation of PCI-DSS compliance. There are different types of SAQs, e.g. A, A-EP, C, etc. The most appropriate type in your case would be SAQ A defined by PCI-DSS as: "Card-not-present merchants (e-commerce or mail/telephone-order), that have fully outsourced all cardholder data functions to PCI DSS compliant third-party service providers, with no electronic storage, processing, or transmission of any cardholder data on the merchant’s systems or premises. Not applicable to face-to-face channels."
